Job Description Leads and guides other Representatives in performance of their duties. Assists with reviewing benefits, validating authorizations, and communicating authorization statuses with physician offices. Coordinates daily tasks that support the operational needs of the department. Assists with daily team needs/training. Job Responsibility 1.Leads and guides service representatives on the process of obtaining or clarifying insurance information and authorization requirements. 2.Uses knowledge and skills to complete more complex elective procedural accounts and thoroughly documents in computer system. 3.Contacts insurers to verify patients' insurance benefits, utilizes insurance websites and other means of electronic insurance verification to obtain all information necessary for securing patient accounts, including coordination of benefits, benefit coverage, limits, copay / deductible amounts, and authorization. 4.Collects money due from patient at time of service; May perform billing, receivable and related functions. 5.Secures authorizations for admissions and procedures when necessary. 6.Coordinates registration functions and offers suggestions to optimize staff performance through process improvements. 7.Identifies training needs for staff by developing and updating action plans. 8.Attend Meetings such as Rounding, Forums, and Huddles/ Management meetings. 9.Assist leadership team with Daily Reports and Quality Reviews. 10.Regularly models/mentors and trains team members on technical skills. 11.Coordinates and provides input into work schedules; monitors adherence to schedules and reports absences. 12.Provides work guidance, including checking and assigning work, to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks. 13.Works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial. 13.Assists team members in determining methods and procedures for new tasks. 14.Makes recommendations to management on new processes, tools and techniques, or development of new products and services. 15.Makes decisions regarding daily priorities for a workgroup/function; provides guidance to and/or assists team members on non-routine or escalated issues. 16.Performs related duties as required.
