Job SummaryThe San Luis Coastal Unified School District is looking for a skilled Lead Payroll Specialist for our Fiscal Services Department. The Lead Payroll Specialist will perform a variety of specialized payroll, benefits, and retirement accounting duties, serve as a technical resource to payroll and fiscal staff and prepare, maintain and audit a variety of financial and statistical payroll, benefits, and retirement data, records statements and reports. This is an in-person, full-time position in San Luis Obispo, that is supervised by the Director of Fiscal Services and will provide functional supervision of a small team of Payroll Specialists. Qualified candidates will have a combination of experience and training that should include six years of increasingly responsible payroll & financial recordkeeping experience, with at least two years in a public school system (or comparable setting). Comments and Other InformationThe purpose of this recruitment is to fill an upcoming vacancy, and to establish an eligibility list for vacancies that may occur over a six month period. The tentative start date for the position is as soon as possible following the conclusion of the recruitment process, and is dependent upon fingerprint and TB clearance, and completion of all required pre-employment tasks.
