We are searching for a Lead Project Estimator on behalf of our client. This is a 1 yr. contract assignment. The person will be joining the Estimating Group within the Engineering & Construction Division. This senior level position will be filled by an individual with experience in renewable estimating or construction and a passion for helping the client deliver clean, reliable power to its customers.
Location: Must live near or local to Juno Beach, FL area.
The Lead Project Estimator will be a key member of the inventive and vibrant preconstruction estimating team and will support design of projects. The ideal candidate has experience in the renewable industry, a highly developed understanding of construction means and methods, a deep understanding of wind and solar construction requirements, robust project management skills, and strong leadership qualities. In this role, you will collaborate with cross functional teams involved in project development, planning and execution to develop project estimates and improve estimating tools.
Job Overview
- This position develops, quantifies, costs, and provides a complete capital expenditure (CapEx) model for evaluating projects. CapEx models include all engineering, material, direct construction, and indirect construction costs. Employees in this role provide technical guidance, estimating knowledge, market pricing, and staffing considerations during the estimating process.
- This position is a leadership role within the team, but not a management position. Day to day responsibilities include leading the preparation of estimates, the development of pricing models, and evaluating new technological innovations in the industry.
- The candidate will have the ability to grow their skillset, as the team also works on other technologies including energy storage, oil and gas pipelines, transmission lines, substations, and simple & combined cycle fossil power generation.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepares capital cost estimates
- Reviews designs and specifications for cost effectiveness and suggests alternatives, when appropriate
- Coordinates with other departments, ensuring understanding of project objectives and efficient utilization of resources
- Reviews layouts, designs and specifications for cost effectiveness and suggests alternatives, when appropriate
- Remains current with technology and industry evolution, assuring that capital estimates anticipate the correct market conditions
- Establishes, builds and implements metrics for cost and construction estimate checks
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
- Experience:7+ years

- Strong preference for candidates with previous experience in renewables.
