The Lead Recovery Specialist position is a key position in carrying out daily activities and establishing connections with program participants at the Sobering Center. The position is central to monitoring and maintaining organization, structure and safety for all staff, clients and community members arriving and or residing at the Sobering Center. This position supports Recovery Care Specialist I, II, and III in accordance with the Program Manager direction. The person will take on the responsibility of overseeing Recovery Care Specialist staff as directed by the Program Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and observe Recovery Station participant behavior and activity to ensure participants are safe, accounted for and stable.
    • Conducts property safety checks on participant incoming property.
    • Monitor daily bed roster and census to ensure participant accountability with program requirements.
    • Assist with snacks.
  • Must work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team at the Recovery Station
    • Communicate daily needs or observational concerns or impression to medical staff.
    • Participate in daily shift change activity any concerns.
  • Create and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for all participants at all times.
    • De-escalate emotionally unstable participant behavior.
    • Provide orientation and overview for incoming participants.
    • Attends to participants needs while maintaining daily activity schedule.
  • Maintain facility cleanliness and organization daily.
    • Monitoring cleanliness and performing needed cleanup duties.
    • Preparing bed rolls and basic hygienic items to all incoming participants
    • Replenish supplies as directed by Program Manager
  • Provide assistance with transportation and emergency response.
    • Transport participants to local facilities when needed.
    • Respond to emergency needs as directed by Program Manager
    • Assist with referral and or transfer to continuing care.
    • Provide Support to other Recovery Care Specialist in coordination with Program Manager.

    What will make you successful in this role?

    • 3+ years of participant monitoring experience working directly with SUD populations.
    • Strong working knowledge and understanding of Substance Use
    • Demonstrated competency in using technology.
    • Certified with a state certifying SUD body (CCAPP/CADTP/CAADE)
    • Must have a CA drivers license and good driving record in good standing.
    • Must have demonstrated leadership experience, demonstrated increased levels of responsibility and/or previous management experience.

    What else is required?

    • Valid California drivers license with a good driving record and car insurance.
    • Current CPR/First Aid certificate desirable.
    • Fingerprinting/drug testing required at time of hire.
    • Current flu vaccine/flu shot.

    Salary: $21.00-$23.00/hr. Depending on Experience and credentials Available for a full-time position.
