Job Description:

The Server (Bar) Lead is responsible for assisting the Beverage Manager and Supervisors with team member training and Bar/Beverage cleanliness. The position will perform the duties of the Beverage Server and be responsible for delivering food and both alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages to guests on the casino floor while maintaining the company's guest service standards. The position will also be responsible for the stocking of coffee, cups, paper, utensils, condiments, packaged food products, and ice; clearing dirtydishes, cups, utensils and keeping all Bar/Beverage work areas clean. The position is responsible for providing attentive, cheerful, courteous, and professional service to all customers internal and external, striving to always exceed their expectations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)

  • Ensures all guests are served promptly and courteously.
  • Attends to guest needs in whatever way possible.
  • Follows all Company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures wait-stations are fully stocked and clean at all times.
  • Continually cleans section and work stations throughout shift.
  • Acknowledges and greets guests with a smile.
  • Communicates effectively with guests, co-workers, and other casino personnel.
  • Treats all guests, fellow employees, and other casino personnel with respect.
  • Ensures no minors or intoxicated guests are served.
  • Follows T.I.P guidelines for serving guests.
  • Trains new staff and follows-up with current staff to ensure proper service techniques.
  • Ensures policy and procedure is being followed by the servers.
  • Reports all incidents to the Supervisor.
  • Assists the supervisor with shift paperwork.
  • Handles minor guest concerns in absence of a supervisor.
  • Reports to supervisor guest concerns, employee concerns and infractions of policy and

  • All other job related duties as assigned.

CONTACTS:

Immediate peers, peers in other departments, immediate supervisor/manager and customers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Physical factors include constant standing, walking, carrying, manual handling, use of hearing, near/midrange/far vision, depth perception, color/field of vision; frequent lifting, reaching and bending and occasional climbing, stooping use of smell and typing. Working conditions include constant exposure to noise and air quality; frequent exposure to extreme cold and vibration. Potential hazards include frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, client contact, computer and equipment use.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: No education required.

Experience: One year previous Bar/Beverage service experience required

Certification/License: N/A.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have knowledge of food and beverage service standards. Must have knowledge of all food/beverage products and be able to accurately describe them. Knowledge of all Food and Beverage and Casino promotions preferred. Must have knowledge of POS system operations, glass washers and draft beer systems. Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage service and bartending. Must have outgoing, friendly personality. Must have basic math skills. Must be team player. Must have sense of urgency. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to remain calm in stressful situations. Native American preferred.
