Job Description:

Description: The Lead Installer is responsible for leading a team in the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of residential and commercial solar PV systems, of both roof and ground-mounted systems. This person will follow all company and safety policies and procedures.Duties & Responsibilities :Install rooftop and ground-mount solar PV systems including: flashing, racking, module level power electronics (Micro inverters/ Optimizers), array wiring, and junction boxesWork on roofs, ladders, crawlspaces, attics and other residential and commercial areasManage, lead, train, and motivate a crew of 3-6 installersMaintain appropriate stock on truck to complete install and double check material for the job is loaded prior to leaving the shopAccurately pull material based off of the construction plansAbility to test, commission, and troubleshoot system componentsAbility to read schematics and follow technical installation instructionsMaintain weekly installation goals for the crewAccurately upload required information to our work platform/CRM/ and other applicationsWork in a fast-paced and demanding work environmentMaintain a clean job site, work truck, and warehouse Competently install safety equipment and enforce safety policiesComplete quarterly safety gear and tool audit on company vehiclesComplete weekly vehicle inspection reports on company vehicleReport directly to the Crew Foreman with any job related issues or employee issueInteract with clients in a respectful mannerPerform other related duties as requiredFollow all company and safety policies and proceduresObtain OSHA 10 safety training (course provided by employer)Obtain 18 Hour Solar PV Boot Camp through HeatSpring (course provided by employer)Overnight travel may be requiredRequirements: Extensive knowledge of PV equipment and installationBe comfortable climbing a ladder and working on a roofBe comfortable with working outside in all weather conditionsGood communication and interpersonal skillsHigh attention to detailStrong mechanical aptitudeTeam orientated with proven leadership skillsGood attitude with a willingness to learnAbility to maintain professional attitudeAbility to maintain company toolsMinimum QualificationsMinimum 1 yr experience as a residential solar installerMinimum 6 months experience as a lead solar installerProficient with hand and power toolsAbility to read blueprints and schematicsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs repetitivelyAbility to climb ladders and work on roofs up to a 45 degree pitchDrivers license and good driving record requiredRequired Tools and EquipmentPersonal hand tools required including screwdriver set or multi-tool (11 in 1) driver, wire strippers, diagonal wire cutters, impact rated socket set, socket adapter, tool belt, bag or backpackWeather appropriate attire with at least one piece of Purelight Power Company apparel worn at all times when on the clockWeather and job appropriate footwearSupplied Tools and EquipmentSafety harness and rope w/ rope grab and shock absorberFall protection anchors and devicesPower tools including impact, drill, and circular / reciprocating sawIPadCompensationStarting at $28-$36/hr DOEBenefits:We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being of our employees and their families.
