Flashii's client is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Robotics Engineer / Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, prototyping, and manufacturing of advanced commercial-grade robotic systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building autonomous solutions, with a proven track record of delivering high-performance robotics systems. This role demands a proactive mindset, excellent attention to detail, and strong problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Autonomous System Development: Oversee the prototyping and Assembly of advanced autonomous robotic systems, from initial concept and design to prototyping and production, ensuring the integration of cutting-edge technology and industry best practices.
- Manufacturing & Fabrication Oversight: Manage the end-to-end manufacturing process, including material selection, fabrication, and final assembly. Focus on optimizing efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability throughout production.
- Industrial Automation & Hardware Integration: Select and integrate industrial-grade automation hardware to create scalable, efficient robotics solutions. Ensure seamless machine-to-machine communication using industrial protocols such as OPC UA, EtherCAT, and Profinet.
- System Compatibility & Optimization: Integrate automation components into existing systems, ensuring compatibility, performance optimization, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Component Selection & Compliance: Choose high-quality industrial and commercial-grade hardware that meets rigorous application demands and adheres to industry standards. Stay current on compliance regulations and incorporate them into design and development.
- Testing & Validation: Conduct thorough testing and validation of robotic systems to ensure reliable performance under varying conditions. Address operational requirements to deliver robust, dependable solutions.
- Control Algorithm Development: Develop advanced control algorithms for robotic systems, utilizing sensors, actuators, and feedback mechanisms to achieve precision, intelligence, and control.
- Prototyping & Fabrication Techniques: Utilize advanced prototyping methods, including 3D printing, CNC machining, laser cutting, and PCB fabrication, to bring designs to life.
- Mechanical Design Excellence: Apply deep knowledge of mechanical design principles, including joint mechanisms, Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Manufacturing (DFM), ensuring robust and efficient designs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in designing, prototyping, and fabricating commercial-grade robotics and automation systems.
- Strong proficiency in advanced control systems, including sensor and actuator integration.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping techniques such as 3D printing, CNC machining, and PCB fabrication.
- Solid understanding of mechanical design principles, including joint mechanisms, DFA, and DFM.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and standards for commercial-grade robotics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to proactively address technical challenges.
