We are seeking a passionate and experienced Electrical Superintendent to join our team, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality in our projects. This role is based in Rahway, New Jersey. Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Oversight: Lead and manage construction site activities, including supervising trade partners and overseeing daily field operations.
  • Quality & Safety Assurance: Ensure all subcontractor and vendor work complies with contract documents and safety standards. Collect and assemble on-site testing and inspection reports, and develop construction completion records for project close-out.
  • Coordination & Communication: Facilitate coordination between trades and maintain clear communication with the project team. Conduct periodic site inspections, perform evaluations, and report findings.
  • Preconstruction & Planning: Collaborate with leadership and the construction services team on pre-bid job site visits, scope reviews, and de-scope meetings. Support the development and maintenance of preconstruction, construction, and closeout execution plans, project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Budget Management: Develop a working knowledge of the project budget for assigned trades, identify exceptions, and manage change control documentation.
  • Client Interaction: Regularly interact with clients on-site, addressing their needs and demonstrating our commitment to exceptional client service. Build strong relationships and provide solutions to enhance client satisfaction.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Ensure all submittals meet project requirements and are properly distributed, reviewed, and stored. Conduct constructability reviews, evaluate vendor and subcontractor invoices, and assess payment requests against the project schedule.
  • Safety & Compliance: Provide daily reports on site conditions and review job safety analysis documentation. Adhere to all safety rules and ensure compliance during site visits and construction activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience as a construction superintendent on large projects involving various trades. Familiarity with MEP systems, including process piping, mechanical systems, HVAC, and electrical equipment/distribution.
  • Client Interaction: Experience working directly with clients on-site, demonstrating strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent technical degree.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of pharmaceutical, biotech, and/or animal health facilities.
Safety Considerations
  • Location: This position requires proximity to Rahway, NJ
  • Site Visits: Adherence to stated safety rules during client site visits and construction activities is mandatory. Site safety training will be provided and must be followed.
This role is classified as a safety-sensitive position, with the Electrical Superintendent acting as a supervisory figure for field work conducted by Asplundh Electrical Testing employees or subcontractors.
