RESPONSIBILITIES

• Demonstrated ability for oral and written communication with the highest levels of management;
• Demonstrated excellence in planning, directing, and managing IT Teams.

• Knowledge of industry accepted standards and best practices related to IT operations.
• Knowledge of and experience with help desk support and operation.
• Knowledge of networking and network-based software applications.
• Demonstrated experience in an IT environment.
• Experience managing performance-based contract TOs.
• Demonstrated experience with the ITIL framework.
• Coordinate all program and task order activities, deliverables, presentations, and briefings as they relate to the System Consultant Group.
• Provide proactive onsite support to one or more Senate offices as assigned.
• Act as liaison for the SAA.
• Understand the uniqueness of the Senate office environment.
• Proactively manage their systems by anticipating issues that could occur in their respective assigned offices due to system changes, software upgrades, and other environmental changes.
• Research, evaluate, test, and make recommendations of new technologies to the Sergeant at Arms on an ongoing basis. Once an acquisition has been made, develop an implementation plan installing, configuring, and testing equipment; training staff; and updating documentation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent field.
• 13 years of experience of LAN/WAN support, system integration, complex network designs, network administration, telecommunications, and data processing projects.
• Advanced customer service skills and training.
• Customer service training and 5+ years of direct customer relevant experience providing hardware and software problem resolution.
• Experience and technical skills in Apple environments and Windows Server, Windows Desktop, Mac OS clients, MS Exchange, MS Office, HP hardware, and Network Communications.
• Must be able to effectively teach concepts to customers.
• Exceptional verbal and written communications skills required.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Able to successfully multitask multiple issues.
• Previous experience at the Senate is a plus.
• Experience supporting both Windows and Apple environments with associated back-up solutions and the ability to install and troubleshoot hardware and software in both.
• Experience dealing with VIPs and performed white glove support to C-Suite level executives.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CCNA, Network+, ITIL Foundations, Azure, AWS) are a plus.
• Familiar with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
• Able to pass Capitol Police Background Check.

Overview

We are seeking a Lead System Consultant to join our team supporting the United States Senate, Washington, DC. This program provides comprehensive services for Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs), supporting around roughly 12,000 users. The program covers the acquisition, delivery, configuration, integration, and upgrade of IT products, along with installation and on-site maintenance, including help desk services. Additional support includes hardware delivery, moves, upgrades in state offices, and technical assistance for systems, ensuring efficient, secure, and up-to-date IT infrastructure.
