Job Purpose

The Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) is seeking an Atlanta based Lead Systems Analyst to join the Clearing Risk Technology Department which is based and managed in Atlanta. As Lead Systems Analyst you will possess a broad skillset that bridges business and technology disciplines. You will leverage these skills to communicate complex and sometimes, esoteric, topics in an effective and comprehensible manner to a wide audience. A key part of the role will be to provide business users with the confidence their problem is well understood such that the development and quality assurance teams may be successful in implementing and delivering the projects to completion. At the ICE you will play a key role in delivering systems which provide clearing services to global banks and commodity traders vital to the support of economies around the world.

The Lead Systems Analyst will be expected to lead and coordinate the translation of business requirements to system requirements including functional specifications, use-cases, and logical flow modeling. As an integral member of the Risk Technology Department, you will liaise with the software developers and utilize analysis artifacts to demonstrate the requirements and ensure the accuracy of the implementation against the business requirements.

The role will require interfacing with business users to understand their requirements and it will be necessary to work closely with database developers to design reports, prepare documentation and provide daily support to business users. This position will require an individual who can work with minimal supervision on a wide range of projects and liaise closely with the business users, development, and management teams. The ideal candidate will have been successful in bringing complex requirements to fruition through interpreting business requirements and identifying key domain assumptions. Lastly, you will be a good listener and adept at teasing the detail from high level requirements alongside the developers.

Responsibilities

  • Organise and run requirements gathering sessions, reviews and issue resolution involving multiple stakeholders, jurisdictions, and time zones.
  • Work with business users across ICE Clearing houses to formulate detailed business requirements, system flows, and use case analysis for new enhancement requests.
  • Interact with the technology team to provide written functional requirements for data analytics requests, and validate the output meets the business needs.
  • Assess the impact that new systems and features have on existing systems and communicate those impacts to the appropriate internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Develop analysis artifacts including use-cases, activity diagrams, user-interface schematics, business rules, technical specifications, process flows, and API documentation.
  • Use with data analyses tools, (SQL, Excel etc.) to understand and develop business requirements in the context of the data to be processed.
  • Enforce change-control procedures to ensure requirements changes are approved by stakeholders and clearly communicated to the development team.
  • Assist database developers in creating and maintaining up to date documentation of the data model and field level mappings.
  • Participate in system design & QA test case reviews.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics or Finance, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in Business Analysis, preferably within the trading / banking sector dealing with derivative instruments; regulatory awareness is a plus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an ability to explain complex ideas and technical details; ability to understand Quantitative concepts and mathematical documentation.
  • Strong data analysis skills and familiarity with Oracle SQL or other database access tools
  • Excellent understanding of use case analysis and documentation
  • Experience working with development teams within a structured SDLC; including DB & Java developers.
  • Experience with business intelligence reporting tools, such as Tableau or Business Objects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio)

Schedule

This role offers work from home flexibility of 1 day per week.
