Provides required US Refugio shelter program reporting regarding education, life skills, vocational, and acculturation. Plans instruction, set goals, implement curriculum, communicate standards, achievements, and deficiencies to students. Collaborates with the Program Management Office Directors (PMO) and other staff members to ensure the best possible learning environment for children.About YouThe ideal candidate for our program is:

Minimum Qualifications
- Education - bachelor's degree in accredited school
- Experience - 2 years' experience of teaching and/or relevant experience.
- Teaching English as a Second Language ESL /Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Certification
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- State Teacher Certified in the State where employed.
- Cleared background check from appropriate entity.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule (weekends/holidays)
- Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire.
- Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Windows (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, One Note and Teams)
PreferredBachelor's degree in Education ( e.g., Early Childhood, Elementary, Secondary, Special Education).What You'll Be Doing
- Supervise the teachers and ensure educational services are aligned with the children's needs and educational requirements.
- Provide instructional leadership, direction, and feedback to education staff.
- Ensure that education staff provide a safe and inclusive classroom environment of respect to ensure positive learning experience for children with diverse backgrounds.
- Provide direct services to a cohort of children and monitor participation to ensure adequate instruction and assistance to each child.
- Ensure the children are provided with an opportunity for learning advancement, independent study, special projects and pre-GED classes and college preparatory tutorials.
- Conducts an educational assessment of each child to determine the academic level of the child and any needs the child may have.
- Adapts or modifies local educational standards to develop curricula and assessments, in basic academic areas (Science, Social Studies, Math Reading Writing, Physical Education, and English as a Second Language ESL/teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages ESOL), including vocational and acculturation activities.
- Assists and ensures the preparation of an individualized educational plan for each child.
- Oversee monitoring of children's participation to ensure adequate instruction and assistance with each child.
- Organize, attend, and monitor education field trips.
- Schedule monthly educational meeting to keep education staff updated and informed of new policies and procedures.,
- Maintains the child's educational case file and contract database in accordance with ORR policies
and procedures.
- Provides homebound, remedial education and after-school tutoring as needed.
- Covers as a substitute in the absence of a teacher following the lesson plans and managing the class as needed.
- Supports in the wellbeing, safety and supervision of children as needed.
- Attend required staff meeting and training.
- Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to ascend/descend stairs.
- Able to stand or sit for an extended period.
- Ability to bend and lift up to 20lbs to complete daily tasks.
- Able to withstand changing environmental conditions.
- Predominantly indoors, occasionally outdoor monitoring or activities.
