Job Description:
First Atlantic Restoration is seeking a Lead Mitigation Technician in the Newport News/Hampton area that is highly motivated, reliable, personable, and hard working. The Lead Technician is responsible for performing and overseeing the hands-on water, fire, mold, and trauma scene mitigation work. Requirements:
  • Minimum 3-years experience in emergency services as Lead Technician or equivalent
  • A drivers license
  • Excellent verbal, written, telephonic and interpersonal communication skills
  • IICRC Certification in Water Damage Restoration (WRT), Applied Microbial Restoration (AMRT), and Fire and Smoke Remediation (FSRT)
  • Proficient in MS Office, DocuSketch, MICA, and reading an Xactimate scope of work
  • Excellent knowledge of mitigation and restoration processes and equipment
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple people and projects while working under deadlines
  • Convey a positive image of FAR in accordance with company policies and core values
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with all FAR team members and departments
  • A positive attitude and professional manner

This job requires weekend work and may have overtime requirements. Drug testing and background checks will be done prior to hiring. Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage a team of 2-3 mitigation technicians
  • Remove damaged building materials that the restoration process can occur in the most efficient manner
  • Participate in the on-call rotation schedule as required
  • Maintain proper equipment tracking procedures
  • Communicate with the property owner effectively and compassionately in a polite and courteous manner
