Position Overview: The in-Circle Program Lead Therapist is charged with the delivery of needed mental health services to all individuals involved in the in-Circle program and responsible for supervision of In-circle staff. The Lead therapist completes all required clinical assessments. The Lead therapist is responsible for the clinical oversight and clinical interventions related to the Preliminary Action Plan (PAP), Crisis Management Plan (CMP) and the Case Service Plan in coordination with the in-Circle Program team and CPS case worker. The lead therapist is responsible for providing targeted clinical interventions based on the identified family needs through the various assessments and plans. The lead therapist completes required case documentation for each family within program requirements. He/she is responsible for providing the clinical support necessary for implementation of therapeutic and case management services. This position assures that the program meets all state and regulatory organizational guidelines and regulations. The lead therapist is responsible for keeping all state required documentation up to date and updating Smart Sheet daily. Job Responsibilities:
  • Therapeutic Responsibility
    • Works in collaboration with CPS, the in-Circle Program team, and family to address mental health service needs.
    • Works with In-circle supervisor to ensure all programmatic requirements are met.
    • Collaborates with the case manager in the development of the Crisis Management Plan within 24 hours of admission to in-Circle Program.
    • Participates in the review of the Crisis Management Plan (CMP) with each family at each Family Team Meeting, case plan review, and/or following any crisis intervention.
    • Completes programmatic assessments within designated timeframes and use feedback from the assessments to plan for clinical interventions with the family.
    • Completes initial clinical goals, objectives and interventions for the case plan in coordination with the in-Circle Program team, CPS, and family.
    • Facilitates the initial Family Team Meeting with the CPS caseworker as outlined and determined by the ISP thereafter.
    • Completes weekly case plan reviews, monitors and documents progress toward service goals.
    • Completes all required assessments including NCFAS and Suicide Risk Assessments
    • Implements clinical treatment interventions based on the case plan and individualized needs of the
    family.
    • Provides and coordinates clinical services that are strength based and family centered.
    • The in-Circle Program team works with the family members, CPS, community agencies, and stakeholders.
    • Carries out quality assurance activities as assigned.
    • Prepares and completes program reports as required.
    • Attends weekly staff meetings.
    • Is familiar with all emergency procedures.
    • Is responsible for sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences in the organization/program service population.
    • Promotes Canopy Children's Solutions programs and services to the public.
    • Assists in the development and coordination of a discharge/aftercare plan with the family and CPS beginning at admission and through discharge.
    • Available to the family and provide 24/7 crisis intervention as needed.
    • Provides transportation when necessary.
    • Appropriately utilizes and accepts clinical supervision to provide quality mental health services.
    • Other related duties as assigned.
    Administrative Support:
    • Conducts supervision with in-Circle therapist. case managers and Peer Support Specialist
    • Available for case consultation as needed for the clinical staff.
    • Approves time-sheets for in-circle staff.
    • Works in conjunction with the in-Circle Supervisor to ensure proper staffing and that all staff adhere to organizational values and policy.
    • Updates all CPS required documents daily.
    • Assigns new cases to in-Circle teams and manages case loads.
    Professional Standards:
    • Attend bi-weekly supervisory sessions with the in-Circle Supervisor
    • Maintain annual training requirements.
    • Present proof of licensure renewal as appropriate.
    • Participate in staff training and educational programs to maintain annual minimum requirements.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a behavioral mental health field.
  • Professional license is preferred (LPC, LCSW, LMSW, LMFT, LMFTA) but a Mental health certification (CMHT) is acceptable.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • A minimum of two years' experience working with emotional disturbances and families with complex needs in a similar or more restrictive placement environment.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid Mississippi driver license, a good driving record, proof of legally appropriate auto liability insurance, and must be willing to use personal vehicle for organizational business.
