Job Description:

A Lead Commercial Litigator with 5+ years' trial experience and a track record of success in the state of Texas is needed for a remote position in Austin. This Commercial Litigator will have a strong background in complex commercial disputes and be comfortable navigating high-stakes (monetarily) litigation. You will represent clients across a wide array of industries, providing strategic counsel and advocating for their interests in both state and federal courts.

Lead Commercial Litigator Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of commercial litigation from inception to resolution, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, and trial preparation.
  • Provide legal advice to corporate clients regarding contractual disputes, breach of fiduciary duty claims, partnership disputes, and other commercial matters.
  • Draft and file legal documents such as motions, briefs, pleadings, and discovery requests.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and case analysis to develop litigation strategies.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external counsel, and expert witnesses to build a comprehensive case.
  • Stay informed on legal developments, court rulings, and changes in laws that may affect clients' businesses and litigation strategies.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, maintaining an understanding of their business objectives and providing proactive legal solutions.

Lead Commercial Litigator Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
  • 5+ years' experience in commercial litigation, preferably in a business law firm.
  • Proven track record of success resulting from attorney's direct efforts.
  • Strong understanding of litigation procedures, rules of evidence, and civil procedure.
  • Proven ability to handle complex litigation cases with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple cases, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong client service orientation and the ability to build rapport with corporate clients.
