The Truck Driver Lead oversees cross dock operations of 1 dock, supervises the staff of truck drivers, and drives company's 24-28 ft. box trucks to make route deliveries. Works closely with internal departments to ensure product is delivered to customers in a timely manner while staying compliant with Transport Canada's Motor Carrier Division.Schedule:
- 28.00$ CAD per hour
- Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm (start/end time varies on most days due to workload / coverage / business needs)
- New facility, schedule could slightly change
- Up to 80% driving per day

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Oversee Logistics cross dock operations, maintaining inventory levels and functionality of warehouse space.
- Supervise the staff of non-CDL truck drivers.
- Responsible for orientation and training of new truck driver staff.
- Drive company trucks to make route deliveries to customers and meet delivery schedules.
- Scans product using handheld scanners.
- Maneuver trucks into position in order to load and unload delivery trucks.
- Load and unload freight from trucks, receiving shipments to appropriate storage areas according to manifest.
- Secure loads when loading delivery trucks.
- Respond to all customer inquiries through phone or e-mail in a prompt and professional manner.
- Complete paperwork necessary for company and Transport Canada's Motor Carrier Division.
- Monitor self and maintain knowledge in relevant field at all times.
- Help solve problems and make informed decisions that affect the service and profitability of the company.
- Performs related duties as required, to include updated route directions, stop to stop, for all routes.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
- Report defects, accidents or violations.
- Communicate with logistics manager and shop manager on maintenance issues and preventative maintenance of delivery trucks.
- Ability to comply with all Canadian Federal Commercial Motor Vehicle rules and requirements.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Previous 1-3 years' experience driving box trucks or any other commercial motor vehicle over 10,001 lbs./4,536.38 kg.
- Previous 2+ years supervisory/management experience.
- Previous warehouse experience and ability to operate a forklift or man lift. *Preferred
- Must obtain forklift certification within three (3) months of being on the job.
- Valid Canadian truck driver license Class 5. No restrictions.
- Willing to submit to background checks, commercial driver abstract and letter of experience.
- No recent moving or driving violations, remain insurable at the standard insurance market rate.
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly and comply with all Canadian Federal Commercial Motor Vehicle rules and requirements.
