Description Position at ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital Pasadena ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital Pasadena is seeking a Lead Veterinary Technician to join our growing Surgery team! We are a progressive ER/Specialty hospital experiencing rapid growth and we are looking to welcome new team members to join us in our mission of providing quality care to our patients in our state of the art facility!Working in role as a technician, this role is designed to elevate and support the technicians and technician assistants assigned to the Surgery Department. The primary purpose of this role will be to organize, facilitate, and ensure that training is provided to technical staff to ensure our patients receive the highest standard of care. In addition, this role will work in partnership with hospital management to facilitate performance reviews, coaching conversations, and achieve department metric goals.Pay Range: $30 to $45/hr + shift differentials - rate to be determined upon experience/skills assessment. *Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates*The Technician Experience is important to us at ACCESS Pasadena. Your professional development matters to us!While your day to day tasks may vary, some responsibilities may include (but are not limited to): •Supports current training objectives and organization, while creating and supplementing additionaltechnical training coursework as necessary.•Supervises the daily activities of the surgery technician department and provides support to ensure hospital efficiency.•Provides continuous feedback and strives to improve performance and work experience of this team.•Creates an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture.•Works proactively and cooperatively with shift leads/Department Leads/PM/MD to ensure that allgroups/teams are working together effectively.•Prioritizes client experience/communication and coaches team members on this.•First point of contact for Doctor and CCR team to determine next steps for client complaints arisingfrom their department.•Review any medical issues that come up within the department and address to satisfactory resolution utilizing direct communication in partnership with PM.•Collaborate with management to assist with interviews, skill assessments, and onboarding for allpotential new technical team members.•Scheduling of technical staff to maximize coverage and minimize overtime while recognizing case load needs, including coverage of technical responsibilities for patients as needed as well as approval of time off requested.•Provide additional support to administration and fluctuates schedule as needed for the benefit of the department.•Works in collaboration with other department leads to ensure that controlled substance use from their department is in alignment with company policies, ensures audits are completed regularly, and inventory is correctly received and discrepancies are resolved routinely.Our ideal candidates will have:
  • 2 + years of previous Lead veterinary technician experience preferably within Surgery or ER/Specialty
  • RVT license preferred
  • Strong leadership skills and a commitment to teamwork
  • Dedicated to providing the highest level of patient care
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred; or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Each hospital is fully equipped with Pulmonetics or Maquet Servo critical care ventilators.
  • We are also equipped with complete endoscopic, laparoscopic, and thoracoscopic instrumentation. We are always willing to expand in different directions and explore new therapies.
