TCI has an immediate need for a Lead Telecom Engineer in Louisville, KY. This is not a Corp2Corp opportunity. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity. By uniting voice, video, and data technologies onto one sophisticated network, our client gives the ability to significantly increase business deliverables, increase customer satisfaction, and lower cost of operation. The Lead Telecommunications Engineer will support complex Private and Public Network Infrastructure design, maintenance and VoIP Network Deployments for their clients. Primary responsibilities will be related to voice services, but will also include data networking and Microsoft integration services. RESPONSIBILITIES Performs network management of the LAN/WAN and VoIP infrastructure. Provides installation, maintenance and support of customer telecom networks and applications. Configures active devices such as routers, switches, firewalls and other network devices. Sets up and maintains network infrastructure as it pertains to changes to the configured network. Engineer and implement system solutions for customers using IP and Cloud phone/telecom technologies Technical services, support and troubleshooting the network LAN/WAN: connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security. Technical services and support at the network level: Avaya VoIP Systems and legacy Avaya/Nortel systems Remote access solution implementation and support: VPN, Terminal Services, and Teamviewer. Communication with customers and internal team members as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages. Enter all work as service and project tickets and account for all time with detailed time entries on tickets. Assist other engineers with troubleshooting methodologies. Improve customer service, perception, and satisfaction. Develop documentation and provide consulting. Provide timely responses to customer requests and ensure that customer is happy with response. Assists in developing and implementing the business continuity strategy for continuous network stability. REQUIREMENTS 4 years of VoIP and network administration experience. Ability to troubleshoot and implement complex VoIP systems, including cloud. Capability to communicate technical information, both verbal and written, to a wide range of end-users. Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services. Ability to troubleshoot complex network structures and quickly remedy anomalies found. Strong knowledge of network TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN Ability to diagnose, test, and implement configuration changes on Cisco networking hardware and appliances. Ability to document and communicate technical information to other IT support personnel. PREFERRED Bachelors Degree in a technical field of study. Practical installation and support experience with Avaya IP Office preferred. Industry certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, AIPS/ACIS/ACSS, ACSP, CCNA, CCNP, VCA and VCP. Experience working for an IT Service Provider or Managed Service Provider.
