Job Description:

Leadership Analysts support U.S. policymakers by producing and delivering written and oral assessments of foreign leaders and key decision-makers.

Minimum Requirements
  • U.S. citizens (dual U.S. citizens also eligible)
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Willing to move to the Washington, DC area
  • Able to complete security and medical evaluations

As a Leadership Analyst at CIA, you'll support policymakers by producing and delivering written and oral assessments of foreign leaders and key decision-makers. Your analysis will help U.S. policymakers understand their foreign counterparts by examining worldviews, national ambitions and constraints, and the social context for these leaders.

Opportunities exist for foreign and domestic travel, language training, analytic tradecraft and management training. You will have an opportunity to develop deep substantive expertise and participate in broadening assignments with other offices in the Agency and across the U.S. Government.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in one of the following:
    • Foreign Area Studies
    • History
    • International Affairs
    • Political Science
    • Psychology
    • Political Psychology
    • Sociology
    • Anthropology
  • Coursework or demonstrated interest in leadership studies, small-group behavior, or decision-making
  • At least a 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale is preferred
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Awareness of U.S. national security interests
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise text
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Interest in a career that requires regular writing assignments
