Job Summary: SUNY Brockport invites applications for a Leadership Giving Officer position in the Department of Advancement. The Leadership Giving Officer plays a critical role in the fundraising strategy, focusing on cultivating, stewarding, and expanding relationships with mid-level donors. This position is responsible for managing a portfolio of mid-level donors, ensuring personalized engagement, and identifying opportunities for increased giving. The Leadership Giving Officer manages a portfolio of approximately 200-250 relationships comprised of donors, prospects, and volunteers who have the capacity to make annual gifts at the leadership level ($1,000 to $5,000). The Leadership Giving Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing the moves management program for all assigned constituents with a goal of securing new leadership level gifts, while also identifying those who have major gift or planned gift potential. Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of education or an internationally recognized college or university.
- Fundraising or relational face-to-face sales experience.
- Broad knowledge of the principles of fundraising.
- Proven ability to conduct research, gather data, analyze information and prepare effective, accurate and timely reports and proposals.
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of ethics related to advancement activities and to use discretion in interactions with prospects, donors and volunteers.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and relationship building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a diverse community.
- Ability and willingness to travel and work on weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of education or an internationally recognized college or university.
- 1-3 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations or nonprofit development.
- Proven track record of managing donor portfolios with experience in soliciting donations from mid-level donors.
- Familiarity with and knowledge of fundraising principles and practices in a higher education setting.
- Experience with CRM software such as Raisers Edge, Financial Edge, DonorPerfect and Salesforce etc.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm Salary and Benefits: The minimum salary for this position is $63,208. This position is benefits eligible; Find out more about benefits at Careers@Brockport!
