Southwire Job DescriptionThe position will support and manage the Lean Enterprise system and Continuous Improvement processes coupled with being responsible for the support and development of (tools, training, SOP and KPI metrics) at the Bremen Plant. The candidate will lead continuous improvement projects working collaboratively with cross functional teams. Participate in the development, execution, and maintenance of transformation plans, delivering coaching and training on Lean principles, concepts and tools, leading kaizen events, knowledge sharing, and helping to identify future Lean minded personnel. Description of Duties and Responsibilities: Knowledge of Lean Management system and Lean tools - 5S, Daily Huddle Process, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Standard Work, Strategy Deployment, SMED, TPM and 3P Layout with the ability to become certified and facilitate events on these tools. Assist in analyzing and optimizing plant and equipment layouts using (3P & VPI) Demonstrated experience with transforming business processes, with the ability to promote and sustain continuous improvement efforts/projects and culture through engaging, influencing, inspiring, and motivating others Lead or assist projects from idea generation to execution with the goal of improving key performance indicators (KPIs). Develop and maintain dashboards/KPIs for reporting. Maintain accurate and current training documentation for SOPs. Ensure that processes are measured, monitored, and controlled through Standard work. Target process improvement initiatives, working with process owners and project team members through all phases of planning, implementation, and control Assist with reports and presentations to communicate best practices, report progress and provide support to other leaders as necessary Highly self-motivated and directed, able to work well under pressure, manage and prioritize multiple initiatives concurrently, attend to details, and meet deadlines Train and coach others at the location to become Lean practitioners and team facilitators Lead Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events to identify process wastes, understand gaps, and implement countermeasures through a solution approach Acting as a change agent - deliver the change management framework to ensure support and buy-in for improvement projects Collaborate with Operations leadership team to develop annual plans in support of continuous improvement to drive improvements in key metrics such as safety, quality, delivery, cost, cash, employee engagement, and growth, identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities Qualifications and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Safety, or similar field 2+ years of experience preferred. Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification is a plus Must possess strong leadership skills as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills Excellent problem-solving ability. Ability to expedite problem solving (root cause analysis) complete with corrective action solutions Lead projects while also providing value as an individual contributor Support quality improvement efforts associated with work processes and procedures Utilize SAP, analytics tools, and supporting system skills for efficient operations. All other special projects and tasks as assigned. Progressive work history in manufacturing environment demonstrating growth in position.
