THIS POSITION IS ON THE OXFORD COLLEGE OF EMORY UNIVERSITY CAMPUS, 36 MILES EAST OF ATLANTA.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • The Learning Specialist will work with Oxford College's Advising Support Center's student success team.
  • The position will focus on 1:1 academic student support meetings and help students with test taking/study skills, time management, and resource awareness.
  • Offers programming for Oxford College students and faculty, including workshops, information sessions, tabling, and programs with campus partners.
  • Identifies and provides support to at-risk Oxford College students by tracking their academic progress and assisting them in developing individualized study and remediation plans to complete their degree requirements.
  • Creates proactive student success interventions and analyzes student outcome data.
  • Stays informed regarding current trends, monitors student needs, upholds standards and best practices, and engages in regular program assessment.
  • As a member of the student success team, the Learning Specialist will collaborate with the Oxford Care Hub to coordinate support and design interventions for students who benefit from access to additional resources, including but not limited to the Department of Accessibility Services, the Center for Counseling and Well-being, and other resources.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A master's degree and one year of related experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience providing services in the following areas is required: - Experience advising students in their study strategies: didactic, clinical and standardized testing. - Experience with high achieving learners. - Experience working with students with learning disabilities and the didactic and clinical accommodations needed. - Experience working with diverse student learners including but not limited to underrepresented student groups, first-generation students, international students, and students with English as a second language.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
