Overview: The Training Specialist is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating organization-wide training programs that support strategic business initiatives to meet performance gaps, build new capabilities, and enhance the member experience. This position concentrates on cultivating and delivering training aligned with departmental and organizational goals while maintaining strict compliance to all training required by law. This role involves a more focused approach on front-line product knowledge and sales skills, emphasizing continuous improvement through learning and development. Responsibilities: Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Conduct ongoing needs assessments and recommend learning solutions that develop front-line product knowledge.
  • Continuously analyze the skills and competencies required to support front-line product knowledge and sales skills.
  • Develop learning and development programs targeted towards font-line product knowledge.
  • Apply instructional design methodology and adult learning theories to create training.
  • Create courses for multiple delivery methods: in-person, web-based, and eLearning systems.
  • Develop training plans and timelines.
  • Manage the training calendar and coordinate scheduling with all business lines.
  • Facilitate courses, seminars, and workshops for all levels of employees using a variety of instructional methods (instructor-led, web-based, virtual, etc.).
  • Develop learning aids such as PowerPoint presentations, manuals, operating guides, visual aids and tutorials.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to develop relevant and accurate programs.
  • Review course designs with key stakeholders.
  • Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process.
  • Identify testing criteria to assess learner performance.
  • Evaluate training on an ongoing basis to ensure effectiveness.
  • Conceptualize and design interactive training solutions to meet objectives and improve employee performance.
  • Incorporate evaluation results into future designs and updates.
  • Maintain eLearning user profiles, courses, and rules.
  • Maintain knowledge of instructional design best practices and innovations.
  • Coach and mentor learners and staff.
  • Maintain training materials to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Travel as Required
  • Perform other related duties as requested and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in HR, Leadership, or Adult Education, preferred.
  • Training certifications preferred.
  • Minimum five years of experience working in a training specialist capacity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent time management and effective facilitation skills.
  • Experience using online course authoring tools and administering a LMS.
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook & Excel.
  • Credit Union or financial services experience preferred.
  • Highly ethical.
  • Technologically proficient.
  • Ability to perform in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
