In his/her sessions, he/she fosters intellectual growth to help students become independent learners. May also conduct workshops in a variety of formats, sizes, and topics, including discipline specific reviews, study skills and time management, as well as basic computer skills. In this role, he/she encourages student success through engagement with a variety of academic resources, and act as mentors to Peer Tutors.QualificationsEducation Requirements:Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university required.Required Skills & Experience:Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to work collegially with diverse personnel.Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, written and oral communication, problem-solving, organizational, and presentation skills.Computer proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Banner, LibCal and Internet.Demonstrated evidence of detail-orientation, customer service orientation, ability to work independently, high attention to detail.Ability to travel between locations preferred.Tutoring/ teaching experience is a plusCompensation offered will be commensurate with the educational background and work experience of the individual.Mercy University promotes a community campus environment.
