Job Reference 1249379Location Needville, Texas, United StatesIndustry Oil & Gas - Offshore OilFunction Field ServicesJob Type ContractDate Added October 1, 2024Main Functions:The Operations Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring, and maintenance preparation of wells, processing units, and related facilities. This role demands a strong focus on oil, gas, and water separation facilities, as well as expertise in utilities and secondary operations. The position involves both on-site facility start-up and the utilization of operating tools, procedures, work permitting, and training. Candidates with experience in new facility start-up and operations are highly desirable.Tasks and Responsibilities:Ensure personal safety and the safety of co-workers by following and enforcing all safety regulations.Serve as the primary operations contact for assigned facilities, demonstrating an understanding of process flow, basic chemistry, major line-ups, and all unit safety equipment, including isolation points.Review computer data and generated schematics to optimize process performance.Conduct physical inspections and monitor equipment and work areas using vision, hearing, smell, and touch to ensure correct operation.Issue Safe Work Permits, requiring proficiency in current operating conditions and safety risks associated with the unit.Perform gas testing to ensure the operating area is safe for maintenance activities.Monitor processes by gauging tanks, reading meters, recording data, taking product samples, checking for leaks, and assessing temperature, pressure, and flow rates.Conduct visual maintenance by checking critical performance parameters to ensure equipment operates within defined limits.Adjust local process parameters as necessary to maintain product specifications.Maintain company vehicle in good working condition.Coordinate oil sales and saltwater hauling as needed.Maintain accurate electronic or paper gauge sheets and document reasons for production changes.Check control valve positions to ensure correct operation.Perform basic equipment maintenance, including lubrication, water addition, tightening valve packing, changing filters, and clearing equipment.Communicate with the Production Foreman to stay informed about process conditions and necessary changes.Execute winterization and summarization of equipment for optimal efficiency.Monitor field equipment using electronic test equipment, including handheld monitors and computer systems.Inspect safety valves, fire extinguishers, fire hoses, breathing apparatus, and other safety equipment.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within assigned areas.Adhere to environmental policies and procedures, executing work to minimize environmental impacts.Follow all working rules and continuously improve job knowledge and skills.Demonstrate reliable attendance and the ability to work independently, while supporting team objectives.Skills and Qualifications:High school diploma required; college degree or trade school certificate preferred.Previous experience in a related position.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Willingness to work rotating shifts and be available for call-out as needed.Ability to interact effectively in a multicultural environment.Knowledge of maintenance, operation, and repair of surface equipment related to oil and gas production.Proficient computer skills with strong written and verbal communication abilities.Physical ability to lift over 50 lbs and climb ladders/stairs.Capability to use Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and other safety equipment.Application Instructions:If you meet the above qualifications and are interested in joining our team, please submit your application along with your resume.
