Overview:

As a Lease Operator you will be responsible for monitoring, optimizing, and maintaining oil and gas production and injection wells on a rotational schedule. You will ensure peak efficiency and reliability of production equipment,support Health, Environment, and Safety processes. The role requires extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, strong technical skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. A successful candidate must have a deep understanding of oil and gas and be capable of troubleshooting various production systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for monitoring and optimization of all production and injection wells. This includes all process variables, ensuring that all production equipment is operating at peak reliability and efficiency, and acquiring and storing data.

  • Actively supports health, environment, and safety processes by accomplishing daily activities within applicable regulations and policies, carrying out duties in an environmentally conscious manner, following safe operating practices.

  • Operates, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains oil and gas production equipment.

  • Perform duties (as detailed below) associated with oil and gas producing operations; including but not limited to plunger lift wells, process equipment, compression, dehydration, etc.:

    • Optimizing artificial lift systems.
    • Testing wells.

    • Acquires fluid level information.

    • Records keeping and data input.

    • Monitors computer control systems.

    • Tests safety devices.

    • Operates and monitors of SCADA.

    • Partners with other employees, and contractors to ensure that all equipment is operating at peak efficiency.

    • Utilizes Computerized Maintenance Management System to create work orders for inventory and work planning/prioritization.

    • Assures all work performed adheres to customer's operational excellence standards and regulatory requirements.

    • Drives on a routine basis.

    • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of operations experience in oil and gas or related petrochemical industries preferred, including experience with regulations and the maintenance and testing requirements associated with related safety devices preferred. Will accept entry level candidates.
  • In-depth understanding of upstream facilities including but not limited to: separation, pumping, gathering, tankage, LACT sales, metering, and compression.
  • Broad knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot and maintain major oil and gas production facility process systems including: mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and production equipment.
  • Capable of simultaneously performing multiple tasks with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, and internal and external customers.
  • High School Diploma or GED required. College Degree or Technical training preferred.
  • Valid US Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be local to Bowman, Rhame, Marmarth, and Scranton, ND or Baker, Pleva, MT.
  • Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug, hair follicle, MVR, agility and fit for duty.
  • Physical Requirements - Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
  • Understanding of importance of environmental and safe work practices
