Leasing Professional Overview
The Leasing Professional will be responsible for:
Sales
- Professionally leasing rental apartments to maximize income and achieve property occupancy goals.
- Conducting apartment and community tours with prospective residents.
- Ensuring that the leasing sales process is followed correctly.
- Following up on phone and email leads in a timely and consistent manner.
Marketing:
- Completing marketing reports, applications, and leases as needed.
- Shopping the competition regularly by phone and in person.
- Assisting with marketing ideas and completing weekly marketing reports.
- Implementing outreach marketing efforts to gain referrals from area businesses and employers.
Administrative:
- Educating prospective residents on the application process and requirements.
- Processing applications in a timely manner, including:
- Verifying the validity of all documents related to the application.
- Completing credit and background checks on applicants.
- Informing future residents of their approval status.
- Processing approved applications promptly, including:
- Preparing new leases.
- Scheduling move-in dates.
- Conducting inspections for rent-ready apartments.
- Collecting all required money for move-in.
- Assisting with office tasks as needed, covering for others' absences, and participating in resident activities and retention efforts.
Leasing Professional Qualifications:
- Prefer 2+ years of leasing experience in multifamily.
- Minimum of 1 year of leasing, sales, customer service, and/or administrative experience.
- PC proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook) and the Internet.
- Excellent verbal, written, telephone, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work with highly confidential information, take initiative, and exercise good judgment.
- Must be a self-starter, capable of identifying needs and requirements.
- Ability to identify issues, recommend solutions, and implement resolutions.
- Ability to function in a commercial office environment and utilize standard office equipment, including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc.
- H.S. Diploma or GED required. College degree preferred.
