Position Summary The Leave Administrator is responsible for performing, coordinating and innovating the daily administration of various benefit programs, including leave of absence and retirement plans. The incumbent will manage the process, policies and will have oversight of the vendor partners that help the company service our employees. Identifies, develops and implements process improvements for the administration of our benefits. Duties 1. Serve as the primary contact for the vendor. 2. Serve as the subject matter expert for the leave in alignment and under the general direction and guidance of management and the legal department. 3. Ensure that leave programs and policies are interpreted and administered in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, etc.). Produce and manage reporting metrics and analytics for all leave cases. Provide reports as requested. 4. Partner closely with managers on leave cases. Provide status updates to managers on a regular basis and upon request. 5. Manage STD/LTD programs and vendor relationships. Ensure that STD claims are coordinated with FMLA or general medical cases. 6. Assist in the creation and facilitation of leave administration programs. 7. Explain leave policies and procedures to employees and managers; provide assistance throughout the duration of the leave. 8. Work directly with all Management levels, HR Administrators and vendors to administer leaves. 9. Partner with HR and the Risk Department on workers' compensation leaves to ensure that workers' compensation leaves are coordinated with FML when applicable. 10. Monitor benefit premium deductions and prepare invoices during employee leave. 11. Remain current regarding laws, regulations and legal cases related to leaves and ADA. 12. Perform all other duties as assigned or required. Education Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience 1. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field with three years of leave administration experience. 2. Understanding of regulatory framework governing benefits and HR including but not limited to HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, ERISA, and benefits-related DOL and IRS regulations. Preferred Experience
  • Experience with an HRIS system preferred
Skills 1. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both internal and external vendors and customers. 2. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines. 4. Prior customer service and/or administrative experience required. 5. Ability to follow directions, set priorities, organize, implement and administer effectively in all areas of accountability. 6. Excellent use of Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel required. 7. Access database skills. 8. Experience with an HRIS system preferred. 9. Demonstrated maturity in dealing with different level of employees in a fast-paced environment. 10. Demonstrated use of sound judgment and commitment to confidentiality at all times. 11. Demonstrated exceptional customer service, telephone skills with a commitment to detail.
