Starting pay range: $29.00 - $34.00Location: Eugene, OR - This position is hybrid (both on-site and remote) in Oregon.OCCU is here to enrich lives. We do this by hiring tenacious, humble, and big-hearted individuals who are driven to work hard; contribute to an outstanding member experience; support their community through volunteering and advocating for community needs and are dedicated to their own individual growth and development.As a Leave and Benefits Coordinator, your essential job function will require prioritizing and completing all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner, adjusting for changing priorities and availability of resources and demonstrating initiative in identifying additional tasks to be completed when time permits. These duties are a representative example of position expectations. Actual duties assigned may vary and change depending on the business needs of the department and OCCU.Every day you will:
  • Consistently demonstrate alignment with OCCU vision and values.
  • Assist with the administration of health and retirement benefits, including enrollments, changes and terminations. Work with the HR team to coordinate and assist with annual benefit enrollment processes.
  • Assist with Leave of Absence, ADA and workers compensation programs, processes and paperwork.
  • Maintain timely and professional communications with leave and benefit vendors.
  • Assist employees with leave of absence and benefit related questions.
  • Communicate with employees regarding their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules. Ensure that employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice requirements to qualify for and to take leave.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation best practices.
  • Support the full employee life cycle with benefit and leave of absence needs, including but not limited to life events and ergonomic requests.
  • Ensure that the Affordable Care Act (ACA) rules and regulations are followed. Gather and report on required ACA information to the IRS.
  • Process HR billing, including but not limited to retirement contributions, insurance and deferred compensation.
  • Balance HR related general ledger accounts.
  • Draft and/or recommend revisions to OCCU policies to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining Federal and State compliance with employer notices, posters and disclosures.
  • Coordinate and perform regular system changes and enhancements through multiple programs including the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • Develop knowledge of a variety of HR programs and systems.
  • Maintain electronic personnel files, records and reports in a logical, timely and legally compliant manner. Perform data entry to support HR team as needed. Provide employees with copies of personnel files as requested. Ensure that all electronic filing within HR is completed promptly.
  • Provide overall support to the HR team.
To thrive in this role, you will need:
  • A minimum of two years of similar or related experience.
  • A minimum of one year's leave of administration experience is preferred.
  • HR certification(s) preferred.
  • Completion of specialized certification or training on FMLA/leave administration preferred.
Associate degree required and/or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school and/or relevant HR Certification(s) such as PHR.
  • Must be willing to obtain and maintain applicable certifications or training while in the position.
