Lecturers are required to maintain additional hours outside the classroom to provide assistance to students. Specific assignments are dependent upon department needs. Candidates may be called upon to teach in a distance education mode.Applications are currently being accepted to establish a pool of qualified applicants with expertise in many areas of Biology including bioinformatics, hematology, immunology, molecular biology, physiology, plant biology, population genetics, scientific writing, and service learning.DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:The Department of Biology and Chemistry at CSUMB offers B.S. degrees in Agricultural Plant and Soil Sciences and Biology and minors in Biology and Chemistry. The Biology major has 3 concentrations: 1) Ecology, Evolution and Organismal Biology; 2) Molecular Biology; and 3) Teacher Preparation. These programs all emphasize the critical thinking and technical skills necessary to train students in the biomedical, environmental, technological, agricultural workforce, succeed in high level graduate programs in the biosciences, and solve complex problems.
