Job Description:

CLA has an immediate need for an administrative assistant to join the litigation team at a well-established law firm located in Columbia, SC. The administrative assistant will provide support to the litigation team and will require someone who is ready to jump in and take on a new challenge! This is a position where your days will never be the same! The administrative assistant will prepare, revise, and finalize legal documents and correspondence. The administrative assistant will assist with pleadings and discovery in addition to assisting with billing and client invoices. Part of the duties will include maintaining the attorney calendars and opening new client matters. You will need to be a team player that can jump in where needed. This position will also provide coverage for the receptionist when needed. This is a firm that values its employees and would like to add someone to the team who is looking for a long-term home.

Sample Responsibilities:

  • Copies, scans and files documents
  • Prepare letters to clients for case rejection, closing etc
  • Arrange for depositions and meetings
  • Answers in coming call
  • Assisting the paralegals and attorneys with correspondence and other administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of experience providing legal support preferable
  • Extremely Organized and Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent calendaring and follow-through skills
  • Be proficient in the MS Office Suite
  • Be able to prioritize tasks in an efficient manner
  • Proficient in electronic case filing
  • Thorough understanding of the litigation process
  • Experience with Summation and LawBase preferred, but not necessary
  • Experience with insurance company billing requirements
  • Be a team player
