The Legal Assistant will provide vital support to our attorneys in all phases of the litigation process. This role involves managing case files, drafting legal documents, conducting research, and ensuring the smooth operation of the litigation department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with the preparation and filing of pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
- Organize and maintain case files, including electronic document management.
- Conduct legal research and summarize findings to support case strategies.
- Prepare trial materials, including exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, and meetings.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel as needed.
- Assist in discovery processes, including document review and production.
- Perform administrative tasks such as managing calendars and billing support.
- Stay updated on litigation best practices and changes in relevant laws and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a legal setting.
- Prior experience as a litigation assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with legal research tools and case management software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
