WHAT THE ROLE DELIVERS

The Legal Counsel is a high-visibility position and will provide legal counsel, direction, and services to POLYVANTIS US and its subsidiaries and affiliates in the Americas region. This position has responsibility for all legal and compliance matters, and will carry out assignments and representation of Business Units with a high degree of independence and integrity. The position will actively participate in a team environment, and will promote and maintain the principles of and responsibilities related to the companys code of conduct within his/her assigned areas of responsibility

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead regional compliance function in conjunction with the Companys policies and procedures
  • Advise management on employment, antitrust, commercial, and corporate legal matters and provide legal guidance and solutions
  • Draft, review, prepare, and negotiate various commercial agreements pertaining to the Companys Business Units and, when appropriate, Companys affiliates
  • Pro-actively identify and escalate, as necessary, issues to the Global Head of Legal and regional leadership, and assist in their resolution
  • Assist with developing legal strategy for the Company
  • Work with and manage outside counsel as needed
  • Assist with training management and colleagues on various legal topics as may be needed
  • Support board office and corporate secretary function
  • Establish and foster good working relationships with regional and global colleagues
  • Assist/handle special projects as needed
  • Remote position: Travel (some international) may be required (25%)

WHAT WE ARE SEEKING

  • JD from an ABA accredited law school with solid academic credentials.
  • State law license in good standing
  • Minimum of 5 years legal experience with a major law firm, regulatory agency, and/or business entity
  • In-house experience preferred
  • Previous exposure to manufacturing business environment preferred
  • Experience with advising management on legal matters
  • Self-motivated and capable of routinely managing work with minimal direction; excellent follow up skills and ability to meet aggressive deadlines
  • Ability to draft complex concepts and agreements
  • High level of interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
