Major League Baseball is hiring a career Legal Executive Assistant to provide high-level administrative support reporting to the Executive Vice President/General Counsel. This role requires the highest level of detail, discretion, and confidentiality. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with exceptional grammar and documentation review skills. Responsibilities:
- Create, edit, and proofread documents including letters, legal memos, and other correspondence, ensuring flawless grammar and formatting.
- Assist in the preparation of materials for ownership, board, and committee meetings (e.g., agendas, presentations).
- Coordinate logistics for MLB events (e.g., All-Star Game), arrange travel plans, and prepare and submit expense reports.
- Manage calendars, scheduling, and coordinating calls and meetings.
- Maintain and organize documents and records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Process and manage the creation of form contracts sent to clients, ensuring meticulous documentation.
- Oversee the execution process of various agreements.
- Process department invoices and manage associated records.
- Provide additional support for legal department projects.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Five years of executive assistant experience supporting senior-level legal executives, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in proofreading, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies in legal documents.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and writing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proven time management abilities, with a track record of meeting strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Professional interpersonal skills and a collaborative team-oriented demeanor.
- High proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Concur, and other similar legal systems such as CounselLink is a plus.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Location: NYC Office; 5x a week in-office positionThe hiring range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. As a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
