Job Description:

What you'll bring to the team:

Maintains, repairs and installs various equipment, hardware, and paved services as directed by the facilities supervisor. A wide range of building maintenance and handy man experience is required. Contributes in many areas of general repair and maintenance and assists other skilled trades in performing preventative maintenance and rehabilitation projects.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Follows established maintenance program, including any emergency repairs as required to keep down time to an acceptable minimum.
  • Ensures that all ride equipment and work areas are kept clean, neat, and orderly at all times.
  • Ensures compliance with internal maintenance, safety and security procedures by following established ASTM, NEC, State and local electrical codes and loss prevention guidelines.
  • Operates simple machine tools, such as drill presses, power saws, grinders, etc.
  • Recognizes equipment that needs repair, replacing, or adjusting and reports it to supervisor.
  • Keeps tools, machines, and all other company equipment in clean and proper working order.
  • Keeps safety as #1 priority.
  • Attends department training, supplemental courses and seminars to stay abreast of updated technical information and products.
  • Attends weekly staff meetings for the purpose of directing, informing and training.
  • Is a liaison with fellow maintenance MCs and other departments.
  • Always follow LEGOLAND California policies and procedures.
  • Responds to emergency calls within theme park, for repairs and maintenance as directed by the facilities supervisor.
  • Qualifications & Experience:

    Requires a minimum of four years of experience in facilities maintenance and repair. Considerable knowledge of the practices, tools, and equipment used to troubleshoot, and repair electromechanical systems, lighting, carpentry and plumbing is required. Preferred experience in repairing and servicing small diesel and gasoline engines. Must be able to react under pressure or in an emergency in a calm and rational manner. Ability to read and evaluate reports and correspondence. Must be proficient in basic math skills. Ability to read blueprints pertaining to rides, attractions and buildings. A friendly, polite, guest service oriented demeanor is required. Demonstrated ability to follow supervisors directions effectively, and observe and remember details. Must supply all personal hand tools needed to meet the requirements of the job.

    Education and Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
    • ITI or Diploma holder in Air conditioning and refrigeration or electrical or civil or mechanical.
    • Minimum 1 to 2 years experience in a similar role with a good understanding of English, both written and oral.

    • Exposure to hazardous materials and potentially dangerous conditions; adherence to safety protocols is essential.
