We are currently looking for a Level I Accountant to join our growing team in Eastern North Carolina. Job Summary:

The Level I Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and clerical duties. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, with at least two years of experience in the accounting field, preferably in a manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Receivable:
  • Verify and enter data into the billing system.
  • Print and submit invoices to customers through portals, email, or US Mail.
  • Post cash receipts in the ERP system.

  • Accounts Payable:
  • Match packing slips with invoices received.
  • Verify the accuracy of quantities, unit prices, and sales taxes.
  • Work with the Purchasing department to resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor payables to ensure discounts are taken.

  • File Maintenance:
  • Maintain all accounting department files in an organized manner.

  • Financial Statements:
  • Assist in the monthly preparation of financial statements.

  • Payroll:
  • Handle timekeeping and payroll processes; experience with Paylocity is preferred.

  • Reception and Administrative Support:
  • Answer and route calls promptly, take messages, or direct callers to the appropriate person.
  • Greet and direct visitors appropriately at the front door.
  • Assist all departments with clerical tasks as required and participate in team projects.

  • Human Resources:
  • Perform human resource duties as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the accounting field, preferably in a manufacturing setting.

  • Skills:
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and accurately complete tasks on a timely basis.

  • Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with Paylocity for HR and payroll management.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based with standard working hours.
  • Occasional overtime may be required during busy periods, such as month-end or year-end closings.
