A Typical DayThe Laser Guided Vehicles (LGV) Technician supports the operation of LGV to ensure the accurate transfer of products into and/or out of warehouse location. Duties include troubleshooting component parts, including motion sensors, control components, photo sensors, and other vital technology. In addition to maintaining smooth operation, you will operate as a subject matter expert (SME) for leadership and key decision makers- delivering reports on current automation capabilities and future opportunities.
Job Responsibilities - Monitor E80 system for minor and major faults. Including but not limited to sensor errors, floor-causing issues, loss of navigation, improper placement of loads, traffic, and connection loss.
- Perform mechanical based preventive maintenance IE lubrication and inspection.
- Troubleshoot and repair minor and major mechanical problems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues.
- Calibrate sensors as needed.
- Retrieve jammed pallets from racks.
- Provides courteous customer assistance to both internal and external customers.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Help coach, train teammates, and participate in on-the-job training.
- Demonstrates high organizational and time management skills.
- Provides backup support to the warehousing staff.
- Annual completion of Safety and Food safety overview trainings
- Active participation and ownership in your training and development program and associated activities, classes and events, which will be held before, during, after shifts and during scheduled days off.
- Place high priority on food safety and sanitation by understanding and executing HCC's food safety and sanitation policies and procedures. This includes communicating any food safety incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates as well as participating in food safety and sanitation root cause analysis and improvement activities when required.
- Prioritize safety above all other job duties by having a safety-first approach at all times. This includes reporting any safety issues, observations, opportunities to your teams and follow up.
What You Will Need - Expert knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, Servos, Ethernet and wireless communication systems as related to plant automation.
- Proficient in understanding and ability to troubleshoot root cause, configure, and replace non-similar controls hardware, such as input/output modules, human machine interfaces (HMIs), safety relays, and other industrial controls.
- Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings (e.g., blueprints, electronic/mechanical schematics) and diagnostic tools (e.g. multi-meter, laptop) solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced electrical knowledge and understanding of electrical safety.
- Able to work on multiple control voltages (DC/AC) and up to 480V.
- English skills must be proficient to understand, read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to lift 60lbs.
- Must be able to work variable shifts, including weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience in manufacturing or distribution
- Knowledge of warehouse management software systems
- Ability to multitask within relatively short timelines.
What Will Put You Ahead - Advanced understanding and ability to troubleshoot, replace, and configure sensors and instrumentation such as photo-eyes, proximity switches, pressure, flow, level, and temperature sensors.
- Advanced understanding and ability to troubleshoot, configure, and replace non-similar motor control components such as starters, soft-starters, VFDs, and Servos.
- Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics for use in system understanding and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of warehouse management software
- Working knowledge and Certification in automation standard practices.
- High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Demonstrates high organizational and time management skills.
