Description Founded in 2007, the Liberal Arts DiversityOfficers' Consortium (LADO) is an association of chief diversity officers at small liberal arts colleges, working in their respective institutions to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in support of inclusive excellence across all constituencies at colleges and universities with a core commitment to liberal arts education. Senior DEI leaders across member institutions work together to address the distinctive challenges and opportunities in liberal arts communities around issues of diversity and equity, in recognition of the significant potential of liberal arts graduates and institutions to engage in research and service that will contribute to transforming society. For the LADO consortium, the Program Associate will be responsible for administrative and organizational functions in support of LADO's mission. Additionally, the Associate will coordinate all logistics related to the consortium's gatherings that occur at least two times per year.   • Provide logistical and technical support for LADO operations, finances, securing annual consortium fees from member institutions, governmental filings, meetings, communications with constituents, and other administrative support services, as needed.
  • Coordinate communication with new member institutions and LADO representatives, facilitate the application and onboarding process for new representatives.
  • Work closely with the Membership Chair(s) to ensure timely communication with institutions.
  • Support the timely completion of LADO business by sending reminders, keeping and disseminating minutes, and following up on outstanding items.
  • Facilitate LADO tax filings through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Coordinate LADO mailings, web and social media postings as well as proofread and update web publications. Maintain and update LADO's style guide.
  • Plan and coordinate logistics of LADO semi-annual conferences two times per year in collaboration with the host institution.
  • Provide administrative support to LADO's Executive Board for activities such as hosting meetings and taking minutes, organizing conference calls.
  • Maintain a LADO Administrative Work Procedures Manual.
  • Organize and maintain member resources in a LADO shared drive.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities that offer continuing education and skill-building opportunities.
Other roles/duties will be assigned as necessary to assist the College in the attainment of the goals set forth and the enhancement of a positive, respectful learning environment for all staff, faculty and students. Typical Qualifications Education required to ensure success in this position:
  • Associate of Arts (AA) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree or equivalent required.
Experience required to ensure success in this position:
  • At least three years of administrative support or related professional experience
  • Experience working in higher education
  • Experience in developing and maintaining websites and producing social media content
  • Proficient in using productivity software and tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and Zoom.
Special skills, knowledge and abilities:
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to self-initiate and work independently
  • Able to work on multiple projects with various deadlines and maintain timely progress
  • Experience tracking and prioritizing tasks and projects based on the organization's needs and strategic goals
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to clearly and confidently communicate and interact with LADO members, institutional representatives, and external partners
  • Demonstrated cultural competency skills and experience to work with and support a diverse population while modeling inclusive practices and supporting a welcoming organizational environment
License, certification, or registration necessary:
  • Driver's license
Physical requirements:
  • Ability to navigate campus/public buildings and grounds
  • Ability to travel via plane and/or vehicle at least two times per year for LADO convenings
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and organize meeting spaces for LADO convenings
