Description:Job Description Summary:Librarian is primarily responsible for coordinating teaching, training, and creation of tutorials for stakeholders. Responsible for reference and outreach services, selection and integration of electronic resources within the curriculum and research arenas. Participates in the continuous assessment of library services. Responsible for promoting curriculum-integrated use of high-quality open educational resources pertinent to health sciences instruction.Duties and Responsibilities:

- Prepares for and instructs, through traditional classroom, distance education modes, and standalone sessions.*
- Develops and updates library instructional and/or promotional materials using a variety of technologies based on usage statistics, user feedback, and new resource roll out.*
- Provides research guidance to students and faculty both individually and in groups.*
- Performs outreach to faculty, librarians, and academic technology staff to identify high quality resources, including open educational resources and other low cost materials, which help to meet program and course learning outcomes.
- Improves or develops services with inclusion in mind, serving to reduce barriers to learning and to create a sense of belonging among all library clientele.
Electronic Resources (30%)
- Coordinates with library staff and technical departments to implement and maintain e-resources.*
- Coordinates user education and outreach on appropriate conditions of use for licensed content.
Coordination of Teaching and Training (20%)
- Coordinates teaching and training efforts within the department and across campuses, to facilitate coordinated use of innovative resources and teaching methods.*
- Identifies and utilizes internal and external software and conferences for professional development opportunities for staff in order to maintain and develop teaching and training skills.*
- Works with a team of librarians and faculty to initiate, redesign, and develop collaborative courses, modules, spaces, and research that support active learning pedagogy and curriculum design.*
External Relations (10%)
- Actively participates on committees in division and University in a positive and professional manner.

Education/Experience: - MLS from an ALA accredited program.
- Previous experience equivalent to two full academic years as a professional librarian in an academic or health science library.
Physical Requirements:- Ability to focus on complex tasks for prolonged periods of time in order to complete tasks and projects.
- Ability to understand and communicate complex ideas by means of the spoken and written word.

Pay Range:Annual salary range: $60,350 ~ $78,450Samuel Merritt University currently provides base salary ranges for all positions-on job advertisements-in the United States based on local requirements.
