S. Williams Veterinary Medical Library provides information services in support of the research instructional, and service facets in the College of Veterinary Medicine. Library Assistant will assist in providing quality service to the administration, faculty, staff, and students in the College of Veterinary Medicine.Essential Job Duties
- Performs serials check-in and claims of print periodicals in the library automated system
- Assist with the management and daily operations of library services Assist with acquisitions functions
- Assist library users regarding the location of and questions about library materials, automated library catalog, electronic resources, and interpretation of bibliographic records
- Provide instructions in the usage of print and electronic resources to faculty, staff, and students
- Assist with interlibrary loan requests and document delivery
- Assist with keeping essential records and statistics
- Supervises work study students
- Assist with charges and discharges of library materials at circulation/reserve desk
- Provide standard information on Library policies and procedures
- Assist with library projects as assigned
- Assist with the daily operation of the Copy Center
- Help maintain the physical appearance of the library
- Work effectively with faculty, staff, and students
- Work one night per week and Saturdays and Sundays on a rotating basis
- Perform additional related duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Good computer skills and knowledge of computer software programs and automated library system
- Library experience, desired
