Responsibilities
* Assist in the operation of the site library in support of school and staff, ensuring a positive, professional image. This includes greeting students, staff, and visitors who enter the library and handling their inquiries.
* Database management, including entering, deleting, and updating library database information, and troubleshooting, when necessary as well as processing library books and materials.
* General administrative duties to include assisting students in proper use of library resources, maintaining inventory, ordering of library books and materials and processing overdue notices and bills.
* Perform simple library book repairs, process more severely damaged books for repair by book mender when appropriate, and refer to program coordinator if books should be discarded if they appear to be irreparable.
* At the Elementary level, this role oversees curriculum inventory management and library inventory management including: a.) cataloging and shelving books and materials per district standards, b.) maintaining circulation and inventory systems and catalog, and c.) general administrative duties. This job also oversees the technology inventory of student devices (COWS) to include: a.) student computer check-out or repair and replacement, b.) assigning and collecting student devices, c.) managing damaged devices, d.) following district technology inventory management processes, and e.) supporting annual technology inventory and audit.
* At the Secondary (Middle School & High School) level, this role oversees library inventory management and supporting the certificated librarian with technology inventory management/student devices.
* Supervise student helpers and assist them to stay on task.
* Assist in the building's single point of entry daily; up to 1 hour each day.
* Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* At least one year of office experience required, previous library experience preferred.
* Ability to accurately type 40 words per minute.
* Basic level knowledge of general computer skills, including Microsoft office programs, single point of entry software, and student information system (i.e., PowerSchool) experience preferred.
* First Aid card preferred.
