DescriptionSummary: Under the supervision of the Head of Research and Circulation Services, the Library Student Assistant performs essential technical circulation functions while providing exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and other library patrons. The ideal candidate will project a positive and courteous attitude, contributing to a welcoming library environment and supporting the academic community's research and learning needs. - Currently enrolled as a student at Pace University
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-service mindset
- Projects a positive and courteous attitude toward the Pace Community by providing exceptional customer service
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in tasks
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Comfortable using technology, including library software
- Shelves and arranges books, CDs, DVDs, and other library materials as needed
- Answers in-person inquiries, helps patrons locate needed materials and refers patrons to the appropriate place or person for assistance
- Locates and prepares library materials requested by patrons
- Assists patrons with primary computer, internet, and audio/visual equipment usage
- Assists staff with checking materials for damage and removing them from the shelves
- Helps set up public spaces for events and programs
- Performs other related tasks as needed
