Description:Position Title: Licensed Athletic Trainer
- Position will support Muskegon Catholic Central
- Part-Time, 20 hrs per week
Position Summary:
Under general supervision, provide Athletic Training services to student athletes under the direction of the team physician or by written referral from a physician and in accordance with State of Michigan Athletic Training Practice Act.
What the Licensed Athletic Trainer will need:
- Must be a graduate of a Master's or previously equivalent professional education training program approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
- Required: Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Athletic Training
- State of Michigan Athletic Trainer License or eligible
What the Licensed Athletic Trainer will do:
- Independently evaluate and clinically diagnose patient's functional abilities/ disabilities including range of motion, strength, coordination through athletic training assessment and testing procedures.
- Establishes functional baseline to be used throughout treatment as a gauge of progress and physical improvements.
- Incorporate physicians' and other healthcare professionals' information and recommendations into evaluation and treatment, when appropriate.
- Independently provides care procedures used in acute and/or emergency situations, independent of setting.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health care programs for patients, athletes, and community members.
- Utilizes patient history and appropriate physical examination procedures to determine the patient's impairments, diagnosis, level of function and disposition.
