The base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. Shift differentials have been included in the range. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity and contracts.
The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) shall be accountable for acting and practicing within the scope of a LCSW as defined by the New York State Education Department and in accordance with approved scope of practice and established protocols. Adheres to the NASW Code of Ethics. The LCSW will conduct social worker services at Samaritan Family Health Clinics and its affiliated outpatient programs, within the psychiatric specialty area of children, adolescent and/or adult patients. The LCSW performs a wide variety of clinical and social work services . Provides skill building interventions to help patients cope with their social situations and relationships. Works as part of an interdisciplinary treatment teams with primary care physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners and staff. Performance of tasks requires training and experience in diagnosis, human development, family and societal dynamics. Interviews patients, and their families if necessary, to obtain factual background information about the patient. Summarizes information on the social and family background of patients and the history of the illness or disability to provide a basis for treatment planning; provides clinical case support and referrals to community resources as needed. Needs to be well versed in crisis management, needs to be able to be flexible and able to triage patients needs while in the clinic.
* Master's degree or higher in Social Work from a program registered by the department of education.
* NYS LCSW license. Must maintain a collaborative agreement with a licensed physician in the field of practice of the Psychiatry with an active license in the State of New York.
* Three years post-master's direct counseling experience.
* Well developed critical thinking skills.
* Basic knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
* Ability to communicate effectively with medical professionals of all disciplines. Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Multi-tasking and task management essential. Basic computer knowledge.
* Training and experience must be in the scope of practice of the clinical specialty area of children, adolescent and/or adult patients, as well as family intervention. Proven mastery of advanced sociological, psychological, and mental health care related interventions and issues.
* Works autonomously, sets priorities and makes independent decisions of a complex nature. Demonstrates effective listening and comprehension skills. Initiates collaboration with others outside of service area.
* Demonstrates personal commitment to the principles, values and ethics of the organization. Models accountability for learning by sharing knowledge and learning from others. Builds effective working relationships.
* Expresses appreciation to others for their work. Treats others with respect.
