Description Position SummaryKelberman's counseling and psychotherapeutic services are designed to support individuals who have a suspected or confirmed diagnosis of Autism or an Intellectual/ Developmental Disability, as well as their families. The LCSW at Kelberman supports individuals and families in the developmental disability community, who also present with social-emotional and/or behavioral needs. The LCSW engages in evidence-based assessment and treatment strategies with a caseload of individuals, groups, and/or families, as well as collaborates with team members on best practices and ongoing care. The LCSW also engage in administrative tasks and supervision of other clinicians per regulatory guideline and programmatic needs. Opportunities exist to provide behavioral intervention support and training to staff and other people Kelberman supports across multiple programs, in addition to partaking in community trainings and information sessions.Compensation: $75,000 to $80,000 AnnuallyEssential Responsibilities:Provide individual, group and/or family therapy to those enrolled in clinical services.Provide psychotherapy, intake/screenings and clinical assessments, treatment recommendations, and treatment planning for children, adolescents, adults, and families.Engage in evidence-based assessment and treatment approaches.Provide linkage, referral, and case management as clinically indicated.Complete documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system per regulatory or insurance guidelines.Promote the individuals' success by coordinating, developing, and implementing, in partnership with the individual, the treatment process, development of a crisis plan, when necessary, and to support follow-up with goals and objectives established.Maintain confidentiality and privacy requirements of the people we support as required by Kelberman and regulatory entities, including files and records.Complete all required documentation according to regulatory and departmental guidelines.Participate in clinic activities that may include meetings, trainings and committees, and special projects.Provide supervision, per regulatory and programmatic guidelines, to departmental clinicians as assigned.Engage in supervision and training of undergraduate and graduate students per departmental guidelines.Contribute to a positive work environment through collaborative teamwork and positive communication in alignment with Kelberman's culture, values and mission.Demonstrate excellent work attendance by being punctual and reliable for all scheduled shifts and meetings.Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and agency regulations and operating standards.Perform other related duties as assigned.REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIESMaintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.Exercise tact, discretion and judgment in working with a variety of peopleDisplays flexibility and openness in daily work and encourages others to stay open to change and improvement.Demonstrates and promotes respect toward coworkers and adapts behaviors to work effectively with varying people and situations.Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.Applies and actively shares knowledge, expertise, and best practices with team.Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances are warranted.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related Software.Complies with all regulators and quality assurance, including but not limited to OPWDD, DOH, OMIG, OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, safety and other policies set forth.EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCEActive NYS License as LCSWMinimum 3-5 years experience working with individuals with autism and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred.Must have a valid New York State Driver's License, as some travel is required.This position must comply with OPWDD regulatory standards and training requirements.This position does have regular and substantial unsupervised or unrestricted physical contact with individuals receiving services and is required by law to be fingerprinted for a criminal history record check under OPWDD (Office for People with Developmental Disabilities) and in coordination with the regulations of the NYS Justice Center.WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDSJob related tasks may involve possible exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue or spills or splashes from these substances. May have exposure to unpredictable individuals and situations when working at Kelberman sites.OSHA exposure category l.The employee frequently is required to stand, walk and sit. Must be able remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
