Employment TypeFull timeShiftDescription:Night Shift variable schedule 12 hour shiftsOur ED Observation department includes a fast-paced short stay acute unit, admission flex unit and a short stay inpatient unit, all with an expected 24–48-hour length of stay. Our specialties include chest pain, syncope, r/o TIA, CHF, preoperative surgical patients, and medical conditions requiring observational stays. Unit specific specialized training includes IV placement, 12 Lead EKG performance and interpretation, Venipunctures, Point of Care Troponins (POCT), BLS, ACLS, EKG 1 and EKG 2 core classes. What You Will Do
- Emergency intervention and care of triaged patients to the appropriate setting.
- Care for and provide treatment modalities.
- Collaborative team approach with physicians, clinical affiliates, nursing, case managers, social work, EMS and unit support staff.
- Participate in community events to educate and promote health and wellness.
Responsibilities
- Ensures quality nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the New York Nurse Practice Act, National Standards of Practice, and Nursing and Clinical Service standards of care and practice.
- Utilizing the Nursing Process, plans, directs and supervises the care of patients in addition to being involved in the provision of direct care of patients and families under the leadership of an RN.
- Various work options and learning opportunities are available within the unit.

Education, Training, Experience, Certification And Licensure
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current LPN licensure, or eligibility for licensure, in the State of New York.
- One year of clinical experience with medication administration preferred
- Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.
- Current BLS & CPR certifications

- Medium work: must be able to lift 25 pounds frequently; occasionally lifting maximum of 50 pounds. Will require ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, squat and reach.

Pay Range: $24.00 - $30.95Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
