Supporting our community programs in Columbia, Ulster, and Dutchess counties, this position administers medical care and prescribed treatments and medications to residents in assigned units, in accordance with established nursing procedures. This includes monitoring the health needs and health tracking of the individuals that we serve; obtaining blood pressure, height, weight, etc.; observing and reporting to RN any changes in the individual's physical or emotional status for possible interventions; providing first aid as needed; and administering medication in accordance with procedure. They will also maintain the medical records of assigned students/individuals, and prepare medical reports in conjunction with RN. They may attend regularly scheduled team meetings to discuss changes in resident's behavior, review, and evaluate progress, etc. In addition, they will maintain records and inventory of stock medications, medical supplies and equipment, and assigned individuals medications. The LPN will provide in-service training with RN present to staff members which will include, but not be limited to, first aid, detection of signs of illness, basic health skill needs of residents, safety and sanitation, self-care and techniques.Salary: $22.00 - $25.08 per hour, commensurate with education and experience.You deserve to work somewhere that gives back to you! Must possess current LPN license.EXPERIENCE: One year of nursing, preferably with a developmentally disabled or IDD populationPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants or other chemical or controlled substances.
