Job DetailsThe Physician Office Nurse will provide nursing care in accordance with the South Carolina LPN scope of practice. Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct medication pre-authorizations and refill requests.
- Authorize and administer CGRP injections.
- Process patient assistance applications for specialty medications.
- Research and review prescription formulary changes/requirements for neurological medications.
- Oversee and maintain the pharmaceutical sample supply program.
- Complete pre-certifications for procedures and infusions.
- Provide patient follow-up for lab results and medication changes.
- Determine CPT and diagnosis codes.
- Assist physicians with patient setup and preparation.
- Conduct nurse visits, including patient education and triage of incoming calls.
- Room patients, collect health data, record vitals, and input information into EMR.
- Manage outgoing referrals and distribute faxes to appropriate staff members.
- Maintain inventory and office supplies.
- Complete daily logbooks and assist with training of staff.
- Offer support for Botox injections, data collection, vitals, EMR input, and point-of-care contact.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years as an LPN preferred.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Licensure: Current LPN licensure with the South Carolina Board of Nursing.
Skills:
- Proficiency in a multifaceted medical environment and nursing tasks.
- Strong computer skills required.
- Phlebotomy experience, preferred.
