Job Description:
Stallion Nursing -

Looking for Licensed Practical Nurses with detox experience to fill an opening in an in-patient Drug Rehabilitation clinic. You must be licensed by the State of New York with no stipulations. You will be responsible for the healthcare of both female and male clients struggling with addiction and mental health issues. You must be able to adhere to the plan of care set forth by the physician on all physician orders, medications and treatments. You must be able to perform all duties independently and use safe practice standards according to the Nurse Practice Act.

Offering full time 12hour Shifts

Minimum Qualifications of Licensed Practical Nurse:

  • Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
  • Ability to work as a member of a team
  • Professional appearance, aptitude and attitude
  • Impeccable ethics, integrity, and customer relations skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Computer literacy and ability to use an EMR
  • Knowledge of best practices behavioral medicine treatment delivery and methodologies
  • Sound clinical judgment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to understand the requirements of the clientele

Essential Duties & Responsibilities of Licensed Practical Nurse:

  • Administer all medications according to the standards of Safe Nursing Practice, in a timely manner and according to the physicians orders.
  • Educate patients regarding their medications and document patients response, comprehension and compliance in the medical record, if found abnormality, notify registered nurse and/or medical doctor
  • Document in the medical record all patient activity such as admissions, discharges, passes, transfers, and visits to the Emergency Room or visits to Pan American Medical Center, if found abnormality, notify registered nurse and/or medical doctor.
  • Document in the medical record the progress of the patients detoxification process including behavioral response to same, if found abnormality, notify registered nurse and/or medical doctor.
  • Document all treatment interventions and patients response to same in the medical records, if found abnormality, notify registered nurse and/or medical doctor.
  • Communicate with all members of the treatment team regarding the progress of patients treatment, if found abnormality, notify registered nurse and/or medical doctor.
  • Responsible for withdrawal assessments and/or vital signs for patients as indicated by their treatment plan.
  • Responsible for the collection of data related to Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) programs such as: Census, Kardex, Risk Management, Incident Reports, Infection Control Reports and Medication Event Report Forms if found abnormality notify registered nurse and/or medical doctor, if found abnormality, notify registered nurse and/or medical doctor.

Qualifications:

  • Unexpired US Passport, Permanent Resident Card, Driver's Licence/ID or Work Permit
  • LPN license and registration
  • Current physical examination (must include vital signs, ppd, drug screen, mmr titres and influenza documentation/declination)
  • Social Security Card
  • CPR certification
  • Malpractice Insurance
  • Two reference letters (one professional and one personal)
  • Resume
