The J amaica Hospital Nursing Home currently seeks Licensed Practical Nurses for immediate full-time, part-time,day, evening & night shift opportunities. Selected candidates will provide hands-on healthcare to patients in The Jamaica Hospital Nursing Home . Additional duties will include:Developing a plan of care to meet residents' needs in collaboration with the head nurse/charge nurseAssuming the role of the nurse in charge as assigned by the Clinical Care Coordinator or Nursing Care CoordinatorAssisting patients in daily necessary activities such as eating, bathing, etc.Transcribing, updating, and implementing treatment and medication orders.Developing assessment plans, interventions, and evaluation of patient care and response in medical recordsObtaining and recording pertinent data in the admission and nursing databaseParticipating in unit-based Quality Assurance activitiesPerforming the role of a patient advocate RequirementsA degree/certification from an accredited School of NursingPrevious experience as LPN, preferably in geriatricsBasic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart AssociationKnowledge of Sigma Care is a plus MUST HAVE TO EXCEL IN ROLE: Highly proficient in carrying out work assignmentsSelf-motivated with a strong work ethicEffectively problem-solves and makes adjustments when necessary while continuing to adhere to policy and procedure guidelines.
