Duties DescriptionPRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:This position would be directly responsible for assisting the medical/psychiatric providers with medical and ancillary tasks. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Assisting with prior authorizations for medical procedures (i.e. MRI).
- Assist with checking the vital signs carts and EKG machines in the Medical Clinic (part of the PCREE Program).
- Will assist with scheduling optometry and podiatry appointments. Will assist with managing results and recommendations from appointments.
- Collaborating with Medical Supply/Pharmacist, Pharmacy vendor, and Medical and Nursing staff to resolve discrepancies with orders and treatments.
- Uploading medical documents, including consults, diagnostic results, etc., to individual EHR records.
- Disseminating medical information between providers, members of the interdisciplinary treatment teams, nursing, etc., to ensure continuity of care for individuals served.
- Providing intermediary services (i.e. clarification of order or treatment) between internal and external providers.
- Ordering supplies, organizing documents, assisting with other ancillary based tasks as needed.
- Creating spreadsheets/documents to assist providers in tracking/trending medical data.
- Assist provider with nursing tasks as necessary (i.e. obtaining vital signs) for individuals receiving medical services (i.e. annual physical examination) at the Medical Clinic.
- Assist with maintaining medical records for individuals residing on campus.
- Will attend morning medical meeting and other meetings as necessary.
- Managing lab results, including disseminating results to providers, and uploading results to EHR.
- Assisting with uploading data to the clozapine monitoring system (REMS).
- Other tasks as assigned by the Supervising Medical Provider.
